Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Freight Brokerage Strategic Account Manager to support a portfolio of new and existing customers by developing transportation providers and carrier coverage strategies.

You will engage cross-functional teams to build a network of service providers and foster strong customer relationships. You will lead and mentor a small team of SMAs, negotiate rates, manage loads, and ensure timely dispatch and tracking while maintaining a world-class customer satisfaction index.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, or related field.
• Preferred 3 years or more in Business related experience.
• MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) Intermediate.
• Travel Yes, 1-10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with transportation providers to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio.
• Lead small group of SMAs as a mentor.
• Staffing performance management and development of SMAs to ensure performance goals.
• Tenders, accepts/rejects loads, creates loads, dispatches, tracks and traces.
• Negotiate rates to meet margin targets and account goals.
• Schedule, plan, and dispatch loads to meet customer needs on time.
• Ensure 24/7/365 availability and regulatory compliance.
