Job summary

Roofstock, Inc. in Oakland, CA, is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to drive forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning. You will develop and interpret financial concepts to support strategic decisions and corporate growth in a fast-moving, growth-oriented organization.

This role leads the finance team, partners with executives, and delivers board-ready analyses and presentations, focusing on sustaining financial health and scalable processes in a hybrid Bay Area office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in business finance, consulting, or other relevant experience.
• Proven experience as finance leader with a track record of leading a team through successful outcomes.
• High proficiency in financial modeling and advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in financial management software (e.g., NetSuite and spreadsheet-based planning and reporting tools).
• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-moving growth-oriented organization.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in rapidly changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial forecasting and budgeting processes, including preparation of internal management and board reporting.
• Provide strategic recommendations to finance leadership based on rigorous financial analysis.
• Assess company performance against annual budget and long-term strategy; adjust as needed.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis to deepen understanding of financial performance.
• Coordinate with finance and business partners to review financial information and forecasts.
• Manage, coach, and develop finance team members; promote growth and performance.
• Lead ad-hoc projects that drive organizational goals with cross-functional teams.
• Provide leadership to finance department; foster independence and cross-organizational collaboration.
• Prepare succinct presentations for decision-makers translating data into actionable insights.
