CDM Smith, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, guiding financial decisions that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

You will participate in financial planning, forecasting, project accounting, performance reporting, and strategic decision-making across the business, leveraging Power BI, Oracle, and Excel to deliver actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, project accounting, or a related financial role.
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and project financial management.
• Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions and improve performance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling expertise; Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with financial reporting, KPI development, and business performance analysis.
• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Proficiency with Oracle ERP or other enterprise financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, forecasting, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning processes.
• Analyze financial and operational performance, including revenue, profitability, project margins, resource utilization, and key business metrics.
• Monitor project financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve business outcomes.
• Collaborate with Operations and Project Accounting teams to support revenue recognition, contract review, client billing, and financial compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPI reporting, financial analyses, and management presentations.
• Support financial controls, process improvement initiatives, and operational efficiency efforts across the business.
• Leverage Power BI, Oracle, Excel, and other enterprise systems to enhance reporting, analytics, automation, and decision-making capabilities.
