Job summary

Georgia Nut Company is seeking a Buyer to support timely procurement of commodities, raw materials, packaging, and other supplies for production and operations. You will focus on competitive costs while ensuring quality, quantity, and on-time delivery.

You will work with Sales, Planning, R&D, Warehouse, Distribution, Logistics, and Production to optimize the supply chain and support new product launches. Strong negotiation and ERP/MRP skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, supply chain, or related field.
• 2+ years experience in purchasing or supply chain within food environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
• Proven negotiation skills to secure favorable supplier terms.
• Leadership and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; multitasking capability.
• Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Manage material requirements through MRP to identify shortages and maintain inventory levels.
• Issue purchase orders and coordinate deliveries to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Assist with RTV tracking and resolution for defective materials.
• Maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, and delivery.
• Support sourcing for new product development with customers and suppliers.
• Participate in supplier/plant visits to support quality and continuity initiatives.
• Attend weekly commercialization meetings and customer calls as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Planning and Production on timelines.
• Assist Finance with PPV reporting and quarterly pricing updates.
• Support cost savings initiatives while maintaining quality and service.
