Qualifications

• 4+ years of purchasing and sourcing experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Ability to track indexes related to raw material purchases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, email, and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Must be proactive and demonstrate a business-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, but also capable of taking direction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages.
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit and supports team goals.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components or services to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Write and distribute complex and technical bid invitations or requests for proposals; evaluate bids and award contracts.
• Research opportunities and reduce costs where possible.
• Negotiate and implement supply agreements.
• Evaluate suppliers and hold them accountable for performance.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and drive value.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the company.
