Job summary

The City of Pasadena, Public Works Department, Building Systems & Fleet Management Division, seeks a Public Works Superintendent to lead the Fleet Maintenance section. You will oversee fleet vehicles, supervise mechanics and parts technicians, and prepare budgets and performance reports to guide service delivery for Pasadena residents.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible field or administrative maintenance experience.
• Two years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• College coursework in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, assigns and reviews work in the repair, alteration and maintenance of public vehicles.
• Oversees the ordering of parts, materials and equipment for fleet maintenance.
• Supervises and assigns work projects to subordinates, checks progress for quality and budget adherence.
• Develops and prepares bid specifications for contract services.
• Prepares section budget and controls expenditures of allocated funds.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinates training.

Education

Five years of increasingly responsible journey level field or administrative experience in maintenance operation

Two years in a supervisory and/or managerial capacity

College level course work in a related field is preferred
