Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Eight years' experience as a fully qualified journeyworker mechanic.
  • Three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Fleet Equipment Manager certification or must obtain within one year of hire.
  • Florida Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the overall operation of the City’s Fleet Services, equipment, and related assets.
  • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs for fleet equipment.
  • Assist in planning and implementing operating budgets and replacement schedules.
  • Plan, organize, direct, supervise and evaluate subordinate staff performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on maintenance, labor, budget and fleet status.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external agencies on fleet needs.
