Job summary

The City of Grants Pass is seeking a Fleet Superintendent to lead the Fleet Services Division, overseeing the lifecycle of City vehicles and equipment for Police, Fire, Parks, and Public Works. This senior role requires strategic leadership, vendor management, and a focus on safe, cost-effective operations citywide.

Ideal candidates will have strong supervisory experience, hands-on knowledge of fleet maintenance, and proven ability to manage budgets and contracts in a fast-paced public sector

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate Degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, and six (6) years of directly related experience, including three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop fleet staff; direct scheduling, performance management, and training.
• Oversee maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance for the entire fleet.
• Manage inventory, parts, contracts, and vendor performance.
• Prepare and administer the annual Fleet Services budget, including capital planning and vehicle replacement recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and standards.
• Coordinate cost-effective procurement and fleet lifecycle solutions.
