Job summary

Synovus seeks an experienced First Line Operations Risk Advisor to lead risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and communication across the Division. The role partners with business leaders to align risk and control environments with corporate standards, risk appetite, and objectives.

The position requires 8+ years in risk management, strong familiarity with BSA/AML and control design, and proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience in risk management or related field.
• Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) compliance and banking operations.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Power BI.
• Experience with Issues Management in a GRC Archer environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Division's first-line operations and technology risk management program.
• Plan, execute, and review Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across units and functions.
• Identify, document, and monitor significant operational and technology risks and controls.
• Advise on design and operating effectiveness of controls and remediation actions.
• Coordinate remediation plans and governance routines across risk functions.
