Job summary

First Horizon Bank seeks a Senior First Line Risk & Control Officer to lead the design of risk and control programs and own live risk management across the business. You will manage issue lifecycles, perform root cause analysis, and liaison with regulators and audit while guiding a senior risk partnership to the business.

The role requires deep expertise in risk management disciplines, strong governance of control inventories, and a proactive approach to emerging risks in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Fifteen or more years of experience in banking or a regulated financial institution with risk management focus.
• Proven ability to lead issues management and risk and control self-assessment (RCSA).
• Expertise across first line risk and control toolkit including incident and control lifecycle, regulatory engagement, and control testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the first line issue lifecycle across business verticals with root cause analysis.
• Direct risk event capture, triage, and escalation within thresholds; drive remediation.
• Own RCSA execution including mapping processes to risks and controls.
• Set first line control standards and govern control inventory in the system of record.
• Partner with business leaders to anticipate risk and guide risk decisions.
• Represent the first line to regulators and internal audit during assessments.
• Shape risk reporting and indicators for senior leadership.
