Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation in Wake County seeks a Business Manager I (NS) to oversee financial management, budgeting, reporting and related administrative functions within the Office of Economic Opportunity and Compliance. This role ensures program integrity and compliance across DOT initiatives.

This position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive program objectives, provide training/outreach, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced level financial, management and administrative support in a DOT program.
• Experience with data interpretation and trend analysis in a program area.
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.
• Knowledge of DOT financial processes, statutes, rules and federal requirements.
• Experience creating budgets, reports, risk assessments and tracking expenditures.
• Development of policies, procedures, internal controls and work plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the EOC office including assets, budgets and procurement.
• Administer EOC programs and provide training and outreach.
• Coordinate with Deputy Director, Director and other DOT units on financial actions.
• Contribute to strategic business decisions affecting current and future programs.
