Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking an experienced professional to supervise a range of business functions within an assigned program area, including budget development, accounting, procurement, records management, and contract administration.

You will analyze financial transactions, prepare reports, manage procurement records, coordinate contracts, and lead a small team to ensure compliance with state policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with financial management and budgeting software.
• Experience using Word, Excel, Access.
• Knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies, practices, procedures.
• Knowledge of budget development and monitoring.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices to include performance management and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and assign work to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Develop and monitor the assigned program budget and provide financial status updates.
• Process, track, and verify contracts and procurement activities in line with policies.
• Maintain accounting records and perform data reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare reports and presentations for programs or projects.
• Ensure compliance with state policies and procurement and contract procedures.
• Provide administrative support and coordination within the program area.
