Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5–7 years’ experience in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' supervisory experience in a non-profit or governmental setting.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical knowledge of financial modeling and projections; integration with GL systems; proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Business Office and provides support to staff and departments.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates Business Office staff.
• Manages general ledger and sub-ledger activities, reconciliations, and data integrity within financial systems.
• Prepares financial schedules, reconciliations, reports, analyses, and projections.
• Leads development and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets.
• Oversees state and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws and accounting standards.
• Provides training and support on Business Office procedures and Banner Finance functionality.
• Develops ad hoc financial and budget reports for decision-making.
• Maintains Banner Finance system tables and year-end processing.
• Collaborates with IT on system issues and improvements.
• Supports audit preparation and participates in audit engagements.
• Handles banking and cash management duties and fixed asset/investment reconciliations.
• Promotes customer service and cross-department collaboration.
• Participates in committees and institutional initiatives.
