Job summary

Delaware Technical Community College in Newark seeks a Director of Business Services to lead campus fiscal operations, govern complex budgets, and ensure accurate reporting in line with GAAP and state policies.

The role oversees accounts payable/receivable, financial aid, and related offices, mentors staff, collaborates with campus leadership, and supports strategic planning to advance student access to resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and six years of related experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with strategic leadership and operational management.
• Experience in higher education or relevant industry desirable if possible.

Responsibilities

• Oversee campus fiscal reporting including monthly revenue/expense reports.
• Promote Collegewide consistency in policies and practices.
• Provide accurate accounting of campus operating budgets and ensure compliance with GAAP and policies.
• Provide fiscal oversight and approve campus transactions.
• Plan and prepare annual complex budgets with campus leadership and VP for Finance.
• Prepare Business Services portion of the Annual College Plan and related assessments.
• Develop and update internal policies; stay current with rules and regulations.
• Oversee financial reporting for audits, GAAP and internal controls.
• May supervise campus operations such as business office or financial aid.
• Assist students in achieving educational goals with courteous service.
• Perform other related duties as required.
