Job summary

Orthopedic Physicians Alaska is seeking a Controller to own the finance function, drive strategic initiatives, and manage day-to-day accounting operations. You will supervise staff, perform financial analysis, and partner with leadership to ensure accurate reporting and strong controls.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, hands-on payroll and close activities, and ongoing system enhancements to support growth and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience with at least five years in management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise accounting staff to high engagement and quality outcomes.
• Oversee bi-weekly payrolls, weekly check runs, and month-end close.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses; translate results to leadership.
• Own annual budget and forecasting; analyze variances and recommend corrective action.
• Monitor cash flow and plan for future investments.
• Review contracts and leases for proper accounting treatment.
• Drive internal controls and streamline processes for efficiency.
