Job summary

Legends Global organization seeks a seasoned purchasing and operations leader to oversee sourcing for large events at Hawai‘i Convention Center. You will forecast needs, manage timelines, and optimize inventory while collaborating with F&B, culinary, concessions, and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by event schedules.
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or related operations.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and POS required.
• Customer service oriented with ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong logistics skills.
• LEAD Certified.
• Serve Safe Certified.
• Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing practices, vendor management, receiving procedures, inventory controls, cost management, and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to review BEOs/Work Orders, event schedules, forecasts, and operational needs to anticipate purchasing and inventory requirements.
• Strong analytical and financial skills with ability to evaluate pricing, usage trends, inventory levels, cost variances, and purchasing opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, receiving, storage, and workplace safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Forecast purchasing for events based on BEOs, attendance, menus, and schedules.
• Develop purchasing timelines to ensure availability and minimize waste.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier availability; propose substitutions.
• Negotiate pricing, service levels, delivery, and terms.
• Maintain vendor spend reports and adherence scoring.
• Ensure purchasing and receiving documents are compliant.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Operations and Finance to align purchasing with needs.
