Job summary

BARNARD COLLEGE seeks an Events & Operations Manager to support planning, execution, and oversight of events, meetings, and filming requests within the Event Operations team. The role includes on-site coverage and leading special projects.

The position requires coordinating with Facilities, A/V, catering, and vendors, developing workflows, and managing budgets, calendars, and department operations while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience planning both small and large events or administering comprehensive programming.
  • Ability to work independently, organize work, and follow through on details.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and oversee events, meetings, and filming requests.
  • Represent Barnard and coordinate with vendors, spaces, and campus resources.
  • Prepare information for EMS, place work orders, and create diagrams/memos as needed.
  • Provide on-site support during events and after-event follow-up as directed.
  • Develop workflows and coordinate with fulfillment partners for campus events.
  • Manage department budgets, invoices, and annual work calendar.
  • Supervise Event Operations student workers and support department operations.
