Job summary

Barnard College is seeking an Events & Operations Manager to support planning, implementation, and oversight of events, meetings, and filming requests as part of the Event Operations team. You will also provide on-site coverage and lead special projects when needed.

Under supervision, you’ll liaise with event organizers, clarify goals and policies, coordinate with services like Facilities, A/V, and catering, and prepare clear, actionable timelines and materials for vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ event planning or program administration experience.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage details.
• Excellent customer service, writing and oral communication skills; tact and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Represent Barnard in liaising with event organizers, clarifying goals and policies.
• Coordinate logistics including space, vendors, EMS entries, and on-site support.
• Develop workflows, plan large events, and supervise student workers.
• Assist with EMS scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
