Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Senior Estimator to prepare detailed estimates from drawings and specifications and to assemble bids for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus contracts. This role includes leading document management, coordinating with trade partners and designers, and guiding junior staff.

The position requires 3+ years of estimating experience, strong knowledge of construction practices, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Proficient communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimate including quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and studies for items within assigned scope.
• Prepare and assemble bids and proposals for Lump Sum, GMP, and Cost Plus contracts.
• Lead document management for the project and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Serve as liaison with Trade partners, Design team, and client; manage trade partner communications.
• Support constructability reviews through coordination with project team and designers.
• Develop value analysis studies to identify cost-efficient alternatives.
• Gain full understanding of trade package scope including documents, site logistics, schedule, and means/methods.
• Prepare scope requisitions for trades and identify/eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.
• Prepare comparison analyses to previous estimates and participate in Post Bid reviews.
• Manage Post Bid action items and finalize trade partner scope with bid recommendations.
• Supervise Assistant Estimators and Estimating Interns as assigned.
