Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services (DSS) Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Senior IT Architect to lead enterprise architecture across DSS systems and digital platforms. You will translate business needs into target-state architectures, guide major initiatives like ACCESS HRA and Paperless Office, and evaluate cloud-based solutions while ensuring governance and interoperability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant enterprise/solutions architecture experience.
• Education or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present enterprise solution architecture artifacts for DSS systems and digital platforms.
• Lead architecture planning and technical direction for major DSS initiatives (ACCESS HRA, Paperless Office, Curam).
• Conduct product evaluations and technical assessments; recommend SaaS/IaaS/PaaS, APIs, and microservices.
• Prepare gap analyses and roadmaps for DSS technology ecosystems.
• Serve as technical lead or IT project manager for medium/large initiatives.
• Support application reliability with health checks, BCDR, and data integrity.
• Contribute as technical reference for Curam design, development, testing, and deployment.
