Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking a Computer Specialist (Software) IV within ITS to lead complex software implementation and enterprise training across HRA and DHS entities.

The role requires a strong background in software development, LMS management (Absorb/Percipio), and policy development. The position supports planning, scheduling, and training operations across multiple units in a large public-sector IT environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a baccalaureate degree with 24 credits in CS or related field and 2 years software experience, or
• equivalent combinations as described in the posting.
• Note: project leadership experience preferred for advancement to Assignment Level IV.

Responsibilities

• Oversee agency-wide complex software implementations and enterprise training.
• Provide senior technical leadership for specialized software functions and cross-unit projects.
• Lead planning and execution of highly complex software implementation tasks.
• Direct development and delivery of 25+ virtual technical courses annually.
• Oversee LMS operations and ensure accuracy of course data and schedules.
