Job summary

The Department of Social Services (DSS) through ITS is seeking an IT Project Specialist functioning as a Senior Business Architect in New York City. The role oversees complex IT initiatives, drives requirement gathering, and ensures regulatory alignment across the SDLC for efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating status meetings, testing and UAT, and delivering recommendations to executives to optimize benefits issuance and related DSS systems.

Qualifications

• Degree or combo of education/experience in CS/Engineering or related field with years of relevant work.
• Experience across multiple SDLC projects in an Agile environment and strong requirements gathering.
• Ability to analyze data, design solutions, and report findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan, manage and coordinate complex IT projects from initiation to completion.
• Lead requirements gathering and act as SME on business solution applications.
• Schedule status, testing, UAT, and release planning across SDLC phases.
• Prepare technical recommendations to influence executive decisions and optimize DSS resources.
