Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking a Senior Communications Strategist to advance the firm’s reputation and enterprise priorities. You will translate complex business priorities into compelling narratives for clients, financial advisors, media and stakeholders, using storytelling, media relations, executive communications, and reputation management to drive awareness and trust.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, media relations, corporate communications, or related fields.
• Strong business acumen with ability to learn new business areas and align comms with strategy.
• Agile, curiosity-driven mindset for navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Experience developing and executing strategic comms programs in complex/matrixed environments.
• Experience advising senior leaders and navigating stakeholder dynamics with credibility.
• Strong writing, storytelling, messaging development and content creation across channels.
• Experience managing reputation-sensitive issues and balancing objectives with reputation.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without authority.
• Strong project management skills for multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Sound judgment and intellectual curiosity to simplify complex topics into actionable comms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies that support enterprise priorities and reputation goals.
• Advise senior leaders and business partners on strategy, messaging, and external visibility opportunities.
• Identify proactive storytelling opportunities showcasing the firm's expertise and priorities.
• Develop messaging, media materials, FAQs, thought leadership content, and executive communications.
• Build relationships with media and secure earned media opportunities aligned with goals.
• Prepare and coach spokespersons for media interviews and events.
• Lead comms support for cross-functional initiatives requiring alignment across groups.
• Anticipate risks and opportunities, recommending actions to strengthen understanding and confidence.
• Partner with colleagues to execute integrated comms campaigns and strategies.
• Manage agency partners and external resources to achieve objectives.
• Establish goals, track outcomes, and use insights to improve effectiveness and impact.
