Job summary

Western Farmers Electric Cooperative seeks an experienced leader to oversee Resource Planning initiatives under the Vice President of Corporate Operations & Strategy. You will evaluate generation capacity, energy needs, and new resources, and coordinate economic and financial analysis for a broad range of projects.

You will manage power supply contracts, develop budgets, and interface with SPP and other stakeholders to ensure resource adequacy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, economics, computer science, analytical math, or related field.
• Seven years of directly related experience in resource planning, power supply planning, market analytics, generation portfolio management, SPP markets, load forecasts, or resource adequacy assessments.

Responsibilities

• Manages WFEC's resource plan, power supply contracts, and performs risk analysis relative to power and fuel commodities.
• Evaluates contracts for new or proposed power supply resources and recommends approvals to management and the Board.
• Leads economic and financial evaluation of traditional and non-traditional power projects and coordinates economic comparisons.
• Provides project management and support for Resource Planning projects and ensures compliance with SPP tariffs and procedures.
• Prepares and submits data/reports to support resource adequacy, load/financial forecasting, and budget preparation.
