Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield seeks an experienced Electric Resource Planner to guide energy supply strategies and ensure reliable, cost-effective electric service for the community. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to model future resource options and analyze diverse portfolios.

You will prepare reports, budgets, and interact with regulatory bodies, while staying current on new generation technologies and policy goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science or other quantitative fields.
• Six years of electric utility or power system experience required.
• Two years’ experience in administration, planning, and financial analysis.
• Specialized coursework in forecasting, economics may count toward experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare utility integrated resource plans for reliable, cost-effective electric service.
• Develop long-range resource planning models and ensure input accuracy.
• Perform quantitative analyses of diverse resource portfolios.
• Manage interface with SPP for RAW, new generation, interconnection studies.
• Collect and analyze energy and demand data and maintain databases.
• Assist Transmission Planning to recommend projects for system growth and reliability.
• Facilitate utility-scale generator additions and power contracts.
