Job summary

Associated Electric Cooperative is seeking a Senior Resource Planner in Missouri to join a team focused on shaping its energy portfolio. You will lead generation modeling, portfolio analysis, and long‑range planning, collaborating across departments to deliver data-driven decisions.

The role emphasizes senior technical contributions with independence and opportunity to guide major planning initiatives. A strong background in utility planning and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in electric utility planning, generation planning, power markets, quantitative analysis or related area.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of Associated’s Integrated Resource Plan and evaluation of future resource needs.
• Develop generation and energy modeling for long-range financial forecasts, cost-of-service studies and portfolio analysis.
• Provide analytical support for generation investments, plant modifications and power supply contracts.
• Develop and improve analytical tools, models and processes used for resource planning and decision support.
• Collaborate with power production, energy marketing, fuels, finance, accounting and other groups.
• Manage project scope, schedules and coordination with leadership.
• Package results via technical writing and presentations for non-technical audiences.
