Job summary

Eisai seeks a Director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology to lead mechanistic QSP modeling for drug discovery and translational science. You will define strategies, build models, and collaborate across DHBL project teams to translate biology into actionable QSP insights.

The role requires deep QSP expertise, strong pharmacology knowledge, and the ability to influence R&D decisions through model-informed approaches. Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD-PhD and/or PharmD in a quantitative discipline.
• Deep knowledge of applied mathematical modeling, including ODEs and PDEs.
• Deep expertise in QSP, mechanistic modeling, systems biology, and translational science.
• Experience applying QSP to support drug discovery and/or clinical development programs.
• Strong understanding of pharmacology, physiology, immunology, and disease mechanisms.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply quantitative skills to biology.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and apply QSP models to understand diseases and their progression.
• Use and improve Neurology QSP Platforms to gain insights into causal relationships.
• Lead DHBL preclinical and early clinical QSP development strategy.
• Advocate for model-informed drug discovery and development (MIDD) approaches.
• Foster collaboration and promote new modeling tools and methods.
• Manage the expectations/timelines of assigned M&S work.
• Analyze large data sets to understand drug-target interactions and disease mechanisms.
• Provide scientific/strategic expertise across therapeutic areas.
