Job description

Overview:

The Associate Director, Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) supports a clinical portfolio of RNAi therapeutics. The role applies systems pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, PK/PD, and data analysis to answer drug development questions across all stages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategize, formulate, and execute QSP modeling and simulation for dose selection, trial design, mechanistic understanding (disease–biomarker–response), and prediction of clinical outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical pharmacologists, pharmacometricians, and research/clinical/nonclinical modelers to identify and interpret preclinical and clinical data and guide data generation for QSP model building/refinement.
  • Build and utilize QSP models to understand disease pathways and treatment effects; independently analyze, interpret, and report results for internal decisions.
  • Stay current on QSP methodologies; serve as a technical leader and mentor team members.
  • Increase internal/external visibility through peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations.
  • Explore synergy between QSP and other modeling approaches to inform development decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) in applied mathematics, biomedical engineering, systems biology/pharmacology, or related field.
  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical industry, consulting, or regulatory agency.
  • Track record using QSP modeling to impact drug development decisions.
Required/Preferred Skills:
  • Strong systems biology/physiology/PK/PD knowledge; foundation in theory, statistics, differential equation-based modeling, and parameter estimation/optimization.
  • Extensive hands-on QSP modeling experience (e.g., R, MATLAB, Simbiology).
  • Ability to translate QSP outcomes for project teams; strong collaboration, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
