Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Wilson Medical Center seeks a Director of Physician Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for physician services across the hospital system, aligning provider practices with organizational goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

This role drives performance improvement, financial stewardship, and physician engagement to support high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in healthcare admin, business, nursing, or related field preferred; relevant work experience may substitute.
• Progressive leadership experience in physician services or hospital-based physician operations within a complex system.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage physician practices or integrated clinical operations.
• Strong understanding of hospital/ambulatory operations and physician alignment strategies in an integrated delivery system.
• Demonstrated financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting and resource management in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Physician Services department by aligning people, processes, and resources with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Develop and execute departmental plans, policies, and performance standards for clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee physician practice operations to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient workflows, and effective issue resolution.
• Manage and develop a high-performing team including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Drive workforce excellence through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and continuing education initiatives.
• Manage departmental finances by developing budgets and monitoring expenditures.
• Direct and support internal/external audit activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and leadership to drive regulatory compliance and strategic growth across physician practices.
• Use data and performance metrics to identify improvements and enhance patient/provider experience.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in patient-centered care across the continuum.
