University of North Carolina at Pembroke seeks a Director of Technical Services to lead the operations of the Technical Services unit, including cataloging, acquisitions, systems, and special collections. You will supervise librarians, technicians, interns, and student workers and oversee budget development and resource management.

The role focuses on coordinating collection development, electronic resources, and contract negotiations, ensuring resources are discoverable, accessible, and aligned

Competenze

• MLS from an ALA-accredited library school.
• Five years of academic library experience with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with data analysis, budgeting, and resource evaluation.

Mansioni

• Provide leadership for Technical Services including Collection Development, Acquisitions, Cataloging, Systems, and Special Collections.
• Directly supervise librarians, technicians, student workers, and interns.
• Oversee HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and ongoing training.
• Manage lifecycle of physical and electronic resources, including acquisitions, cataloging, access, and withdrawal; maintain Alma and related systems.
• Develop annual acquisitions plans and monitor expenditures, encumbrances, and budgets.
