Job summary

BHE Renewables seeks a Director of Generation Asset & System Reliability to drive compliance with NERC CIP standards while leading major asset management initiatives. The role emphasizes human performance improvement and proactive risk reduction across the generation fleet.

Responsibilities include coordinating with multiple oversight bodies (CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, PJM, WECC) and ensuring timely asset maintenance and reporting. A strong engineering background and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; typically six years of related experience if no degree.
• Advanced degree in engineering or MBA preferred.
• Eight years of related experience in utility operations; compliance and project management a plus.
• Leadership qualities to drive compliance initiatives and communicate with leadership.
• Ability to implement and manage substation compliance programs, policies and projects.
• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills for cost/benefit analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for recognizing compliance risk and implementing processes to drive compliance with standards.
• Lead and manage compliance with CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NPCC, NERC, PJM, SERC, WECC and other standards.
• Provide leadership for operational risk associated with major assets.
• Prioritize compliance work and develop programs to ensure full compliance and asset assessment.
• Plan and schedule compliance work with substation operations for major assets.
• Review compliance information and asset maintenance and prepare final reports for management.
• Encourage information interchange on substation standards and assist the legal compliance team with plans.
• Demonstrate knowledge of human performance improvement techniques to ensure safe operation of the generation fleet.
• Take a proactive approach to develop and improve practices, processes, training and tools to prevent errors.
