Job summary

Rayburn Electric Cooperative seeks an experienced Asset Manager, Generation Resources to lead a centralized asset management function for its generation portfolio. You will own generation assets technically and commercially, ensuring safe, reliable, and economically optimized plant performance.

The role integrates plant engineering, performance monitoring, and long-term asset strategy, coordinating with operations and commercial teams to maximize value and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in power generation engineering, plant operations, or generation asset management.
• Experience with combined cycle or gas turbine power plants preferred.
• Experience with IPP/utilities or merchant generation assets preferred.
• Experience managing plant operating agreements or O&M contracts preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate operation performance of generation assets (availability, reliability, heat rate).
• Develop maintenance strategies, outage scopes, and lifecycle plans for critical equipment.
• Oversee compliance with operating and interconnection agreements and service contracts.
• Support long-term generation planning, asset lifecycle management and capital decisions.
• Lead Asset Management with cross-functional teams and report to executives.
