Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance to build and lead a scalable enterprise program addressing emerging electric-reliability obligations and high‑voltage infrastructure. You will translate evolving requirements into governance, controls, auditable evidence, and operating needs across asset lifecycles.

You will interface with NERC, FERC, Regional Entities, RTOs/ISOs, utilities and industry groups, coordinating with Legal, Risk, and Internal Audit to drive compliance

Qualifications

• Lead enterprise regulatory compliance programs for electric utility operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NERC standards and regulatory framework.
• Experience building governance, internal controls, and evidence programs.
• Experience leading regulatory audits and enforcement responses.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans across assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term regulatory compliance strategy for utility operations.
• Lead registration activities and implementation planning for NERC Standards.
• Provide executive assessments of posture, risks and mitigation priorities.
• Monitor developments from NERC, FERC, and regional entities.
• Design and maintain a risk-based Internal Controls Program across lifecycle stages.
• Coordinate positions with Legal, Risk, outside counsel and consultants.
• Maintain auditable data repositories and evidence requirements.
• Prepare for audits, inquiries, and remediation activities as needed.
• Collaborate with multiple functions to embed compliance in design and operations.
• Manage consultants, scopes of work, budgets, and knowledge transfer.
