Job summary

The Health Plan in Wheeling, WV seeks a Senior Manager, Financial Accounting to oversee the financial accounting and reporting under U.S. GAAP and SAP, and to file all NAIC and regulator reports on time.

You will manage the close process, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and coordinate the annual audit and rate filings. Responsibilities include monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, internal controls, regulator responses, budgeting, and leading a team of accountants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification required or active.
• 10–15 years of accounting/financial reporting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial statement close process end-to-end.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory and regulatory reports with NAIC, CMS, and state regulators.
• Maintain internal controls surrounding the close process.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audit and rate filings.
