Job summary

Shakespeare Company LLC in Columbia, SC is seeking a Manager, Business Development - Military to drive growth for the Military Products Group. This role leads the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting to securing strategic accounts and expanding relationships with DoD and allied agencies.

You will manage FMS, lead bids for RFPs/RFIs, and partner with government and industry leaders to position Shakespeare as a trusted defense communications and technology provider.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years in defense market business development.
• Strong DoD relationships with agencies preferred.
• Experience with defense communications, C4ISR, or EW systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies to meet revenue and market share targets.
• Manage relationships with DoD decision-makers and defense primes.
• Lead market intelligence, pricing reviews, and opportunity identification.
• Direct bid and proposal efforts for RFPs/RFIs.
• Represent Shakespeare at industry events and trade shows.
• Drive sales targets, product launches, and forecast analytics.
• Identify co-creation opportunities to tailor solutions.
