Job summary

FHLB Des Moines is seeking a Data Modeling and Architecture Manager in Des Moines, IA. You will lead a team partnering with the Enterprise Data and Analytics group to deliver reporting, analytics, dashboards, and actionable insights for strategic decisions.

You will establish priorities, mentor staff, and ensure data solutions align with governance standards and data strategy while collaborating with data engineering, governance, and stakeholder teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data experience across business functions such as accounting, lending, or related areas.
• 8+ years of system design and development in data-related roles including data architecture, ETL, and BI.
• 5+ years of experience supporting financial services functions such as accounting or lending.
• BS degree in finance, engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SQL queries, data models, and BI concepts.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and data governance practices.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with EDA Manager and leaders to set priorities and roadmaps for data integration, quality, governance, and reporting.
• Advocate for business reporting needs during enterprise data planning and prioritization.
• Ensure data solutions leverage approved enterprise data sources and Governance standards.
• Oversee data quality, availability, and performance issues affecting reporting and analytics.
• Lead data consulting efforts to align roadmaps with enterprise strategy and translate initiatives into scalable solutions.
• Document data architecture and environment to maintain current and future enterprise data models.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to team members and manage stakeholder relationships.
