Starr Insurance, a global leader in commercial insurance, is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Middle Market Operations team in New York. The role utilizes data analytics, leading-edge tools, and business acumen to drive objectives and operational excellence, uncovering actionable insights.

The Data Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across Underwriting, IT/Systems, Compliance, Claims, and Finance to design data solutions, automate dashboards in Power BI and Salesforce, and promote data

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, advanced formulas).
• Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization tools, specifically Power BI.
• Experience in process mapping tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manipulate, interpret, and visualize large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Superior organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance policy administration systems is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Data Capture: Ensure critical data for the business is captured consistently.
• Analytical Insights: Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities.
• Troubleshoot data and process challenges; perform root cause analysis and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports in Power BI and Salesforce for clear communication of findings.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, IT/Systems, Compliance, Claims, and Finance to design data solutions and enhance processes.
• Partner with IT and business systems analysts to define data requirements, optimize workflows, and support system enhancements.
• Support cross-functional projects with data analysis throughout the lifecycle from requirements gathering to post-implementation review.
• Champion data quality, governance, and best practices within the operations team.
