Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Manager to lead the operational oversight of a mission-critical R&D laboratory portfolio in Mountain View. This role focuses on reliability, uptime, and safety of MEP and life-safety systems, not hands-on technician work.

You will supervise vendors, manage change control, and provide technical oversight to safeguard sensitive lab operations, ensuring continuous operation and compliance across complex facilities.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in critical facilities operations, preferably in lab, cleanroom, pharma, or semiconductor environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of UPS, generators, PDU, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Proven vendor management, contracts, and on-site performance.
• Strong change management, MOPs, SOPs, and risk mitigation in a critical environment.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance by vendors on critical lab systems.
• Review and approve all MOPs for work on critical systems to minimize risk.
• Manage change control for planned maintenance with proper scheduling and communication.
• Oversee contractor activities ensuring safety and adherence to standards.
• Serve as SME on lab MEP infrastructure and interdependencies.
• Maintain capacity, load, and redundancy for continuous lab operation.
• Ensure 24/7 reliability of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for labs.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Lead RCA investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and maintain records and logs.
• Prepare and present regular reports on performance, incidents, and KPIs.
• Assist in budgeting for operational and capital needs; support capacity planning.
• Identify improvements to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
