Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Manager to lead the operational oversight of a mission-critical R&D laboratory portfolio in Mountain View, CA. This supervisory role ensures reliability, uptime, and safety of essential MEP and life-safety systems, managing vendors and change control.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years in critical facilities, a B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and hands-on knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, and safety systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 7-10 years in critical facilities operations and management, preferably lab/semiconductor environments.
• Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Proven vendor management and on-site performance experience.
• Experience with change controls, MOPs, SOPs, and risk mitigation in critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance by vendors on critical lab support systems.
• Approve Method of Procedures for work on critical systems to minimize risk.
• Manage change management for planned maintenance and coordinate scheduling.
• Oversee contractors and ensure safety and operational standards.
• Serve as SME for lab MEP infrastructure and system interconnections.
• Maintain system capacity, load, and redundancy for continuous lab operations.
• Ensure 24/7 reliability of building systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing).
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Lead RCA investigations and implement corrective actions.
