Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve as the primary counsel for multiple business areas within the Textron Systems portfolio. You will advise program leaders and business teams on all program and procurement activities, collaborating with leadership on strategy, risk mitigation, and complex compliance matters, including government contracting.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar in good standing.
• Minimum five (5) years’ U.S. Government contracting experience, preferably in-house with a defense/aerospace company.
• Active DoD security clearance preferred, but not required.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Work with business counterparts to identify legal risks and issues across solicitations, teaming, licensing, data rights, and FAR/DFARS compliance; develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Draft contract language and review terms for domestic and international agreements and contracts (fixed price, cost reimbursable, etc.).
• Negotiate subcontracts, strategic purchasing, teaming agreements, and sales contracts with subcontractor and customer counsel.
• Advise on compliance obligations (FAR, DFARS, UCC) and provide training on related laws.
