Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Contracts Business Manager with extensive contract experience to lead contract formation through closeout. You will interface with customers, guide proposal development, and manage government and commercial contracts globally.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, negotiation, and ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and company policies. Travel domestically and internationally as needed; collaborate with Legal and program teams to optimize business outcomes.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of contract experience, including defense and international contracts.
• Prior supervisory/managerial experience desired but not required.
• CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM certification a plus.
• Active or the ability to obtain security clearance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contracting principles and FAR/DFARS.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer interface for all contractual matters during all phases of contract formation and administration.
• Review terms and conditions to identify risk and mitigation strategies; ensure compliance agreements.
• Participate in bid/no bid decisions and support proposal development strategies.
• Proactively manage and administer government/commercial contracts and modifications; maintain files.
• Collaborate with program teams and management; monitor schedules, funding, invoicing and payments; highlight non-compliances.
• Identify and negotiate contract changes; manage change processes.
• Oversee closeout of completed contracts and ensure documentation.
• Coordinate with Legal on contracts with potential legal significance.
• Pursue continuing education on contracting laws and industry trends.
• Identify process improvements using Six Sigma concepts.
