Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Controller to join our Finance team in Minneapolis. The role oversees day-to-day financial operations, including monthly close, general ledger, AR/AP, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL, and taxes.
• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, balance reconciliations, and report preparation.
• Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of the company's financial systems and processes.
• Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
• Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow support operational requirements.
• Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s policy and procedure manual.
• Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the company's management team.
