Job summary

Chelsea Tech, a Fort Lauderdale-based MSP, is seeking a CFO/Controller to lead finance, accounting, and strategic planning. You will oversee GL, payroll, tax filings, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while providing leadership and financial insight to executives.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting/finance, CPA preferred, and proven staff leadership. This on-site position reports to the CEO and supports growth initiatives with rigorous financial discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in a Controller or CFO / Controller role preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, and reconciliations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage the monthly accounting close process and prepare month-end financial statements.
• Review and analyze financial information related to assets, liabilities, and capital.
• Perform daily banking activities and cash management functions.
• Prepare 1099s and coordinate required tax filings.
• Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports for executive leadership.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Monitor budget performance and manage the department budget.
• Coordinate audits and manage external accounting relationships.
• Create and implement annual finance department strategic plans.
• Support leadership with financial insight and guidance.
• Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop finance staff.
