Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks a Manager of Construction Support to lead Survey, Land, and Contract Management activities, guiding project planning, permitting, procurement, budgeting and scheduling.

You will build a high-performing team, oversee risk management, and ensure safety compliance while delivering quality, cost-effective capital projects for APS. Hybrid role with in-office and remote work options in Arizona.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of relevant experience in operations, construction and/or customer service within the utility or a related industry.
• In lieu of Bachelors degree, high school diploma/GED plus 12 years of experience in operations, construction or customer service within the utility or a related industry.
• Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory/management role.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic direction and manages risks with performance metrics aligned to the APS Business Plan.
• Oversees contract development, procurement, budgeting and project controls for capital programs.
• Leads a high-performing team through coaching, training and development.
• Directs contract development and compliance with policies and terms; oversees bid processes.
• Enforces safety programs for contract and company workers.
• Manages operating budgets and variance plans.
• Ensures technical excellence and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Identifies and mitigates project risks cost-effectively.
