Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company seeks a motivated Professional Engineer to lead an expansion of the Engineering Oversight group. The Supervisor will guide APS engineers, manage a roughly $250M annual capital budget, and ensure technically sound, cost‑effective projects while pursuing new business opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineering, broad utility knowledge, and strong people skills. Hybrid role with emphasis on collaboration and performance.

Qualifications

• Requires a four‑year ABET‑accredited engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience.
• Broad knowledge of engineering disciplines related to electric utilities.
• Excellent people management, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with contract development and customer negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise department engineering work to ensure technical soundness and cost effectiveness.
• Develop plans and proposals that meet customer needs and manage risk.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure prudent use of resources.
• Hire and develop a multi-discipline staff; provide consulting expertise.
• Maintain communication with industry partners and investigate new technologies.
• Prepare detailed lists and cost estimates; ensure proper document management.
