Job summary

GSA seeks a Construction Control Representative (Cost Estimator) to guide program teams on Architect/Engineering and construction costs, providing analyses to keep projects within budget.

The role involves preparing bid-level estimates for diverse projects, reviewing cost proposals, and coordinating with contract specialists through the full lifecycle. Strong experience with cost estimating software and cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in detailed cost estimates for new construction, modernization, renovation and lease-construction.
• Experience using cost estimating software and analyzing data to develop proposals.
• Ability to ensure cost estimate consistency across diverse project types.
• Provide guidance on construction costs including materials and labor.
• Make recommendations regarding contract specifications and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cost estimates with bid-level detail for new construction, modernization, renovation, repair, alteration, and lease-construction projects.
• Prepares budget and planning estimates for varied project types including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, life-safety upgrades, and more.
• Reviews, verifies, and approves Architect/Engineer cost estimates, price proposals, and detailed estimates for projects of varying complexity.
• Develops quantity takeoffs using automated tools and develops parametric and definitive estimates using agency and commercial tools.
• Collaborates with Contract Specialist to manage the contract lifecycle for external services from procurement to closeout.
