Job summary

The General Services Administration (GSA) seeks a Construction Control Representative (Cost Estimator) to provide guidance and analysis on Architect/Engineering and Construction costs for diverse projects. The role supports the Public Buildings Service’s capital program and small projects with bid-level estimates and data-driven recommendations.

Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing cost estimates, developing takeoffs, and coordinating contract activities with specialists.

Qualifications

• Specialized federal-level cost estimating experience is required.
• Experience using cost estimating software to prepare estimates and analyze data.
• Ability to provide guidance on construction costs and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates with bid-level detail for new construction, modernization, renovation, repair, and lease projects.
• Analyze proposals involving security, historic preservation, sustainability, ADA, hazardous materials, and other requirements.
• Review and verify cost estimates for projects from moderate to highly complex.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and estimates using agency tools and commercial software.
• Coordinate contract lifecycle for external services with Contract Specialist.
