Job summary

GSA seeks a Construction Control Representative (Cost Estimator) to provide guidance and analysis on Architect/Engineer and Construction costs across diverse projects. The role involves preparing bid-level cost estimates for new construction, modernization, renovation, and lease-construction, and reviewing proposals to ensure budget adherence.

You will collaborate with design teams and project managers to optimize cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

Specialized experience: cost estimating for construction, modernization, renovation, repair, alteration and lease-construction projects.
Experience using cost estimating software to prepare estimates and develop proposals.
Ability to analyze data and ensure consistency of estimates across varied projects.
Provide guidance on construction costs including materials and labor; advise on contract specifications.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates with bid-level detail for diverse projects.
Develop budgets and planning estimates for structural, mechanical, electrical, roofing, life-safety, and other disciplines.
Review and approve estimates; consult with project teams to keep designs within budget and compliant with regulations.
Develop quantity takeoffs and use agency and commercial estimating tools.
