Job summary

GSA seeks a Construction Control Representative (Cost Estimator) to guide and analyze Architect/Engineering and Construction costs across diverse projects. The role supports the Public Buildings Service and collaborates with design teams to ensure estimates stay within budget and regulations.

Responsibilities include detailed bid-level estimates, quantity takeoffs, and coordination with contract specialists to manage external services throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction-related projects.
• Ability to gather data, analyze estimates and develop proposals for changes involving building modifications.
• Ensure cost estimate consistency across diverse project types.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cost estimates with bid-level detail for new construction, modernization, renovation, repair, alteration, and lease-construction projects.
• Prepares budget and planning estimates for varied project types including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and life-safety upgrades.
• Reviews and approves Architect/Engineer cost estimates and ensures estimates adhere to guidelines and regulations.
• Develops and reviews quantity takeoffs and parametric/definitive estimates using agency tools and software.
• Manages contract lifecycle for external subject matter experts and other services from procurement through closeout.
