Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to advance study participation and engagement. This role coordinates outreach activities, supports office workflows, and works with university staff and external partners to inform communities about clinical trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area studies field and 1–3 years of experience.
• AAS degree in a relevant area studies field and 2–3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administrative procedures within department and/or among other offices.
• Monitor and analyze data to track progress and identify trends.
• Collaborate with the PI, supervisors, trial staff, and community organizations to inform participants about available support services.
• Perform data analysis using tables, graphs and basic statistics.
• Assist in creating promotional materials and communication strategies for awareness and retention throughout the study lifecycle.
• Coordinate participant follow-up communications and updates to maintain engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and engagement metrics for reporting and compliance.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Provide outreach and education about clinical trials protocols and/or studies in the community, schools, churches, and other settings.
• Develop methods to increase enrollment by reaching out to stakeholders.
• Provide on-site guidance to visitors and guests for university-related events.
• Distribute outreach materials to the community and track engagement.
• Develop and implement community partnerships to boost recruitment and awareness.
• Coordinate logistics for community outreach events (scheduling, venues, materials, registration).
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
